Vision & Mission

Vision: Students will develop the confidence to take on challenges that will lead to success.

Mission: Huffman staff will provide high quality instruction and experiences to challenge students in a positive and supportive environment.

Collective Commitments: In order to achieve our shared vision, Huffman Elementary staff commit to the following:

• We will follow ELA and Math academic plans with integrity and make data driven decisions on instruction. We will provide student to student interactions that are focused on our academic goals.
• We will teach Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) skills with fidelity and incorporate Schoolwide Expectations within all school environments.
• We will provide a safe place for students to practice effective communication (written and verbal) with their peers, both individually and within a collaborative group.
• We will demonstrate failure and recovery, and provide opportunities for independent and collaborative challenges.

Schoolwide Goals

• Reading: 85% of K-3 students will be proficient on mClass; For 3rd-5th graders, our median growth percentile on MAP Growth will be at least 65%
• Math: For 3rd-5th graders, our median growth percentile on MAP Growth will be at least 70%
• All staff and students will use our common Schoolwide Expectations and staff will support students in increasing their self awareness skills
